It is with great pride and optimism that I share with you the exciting news that Optimal has finalized its merger with NTT DATA to create a global SAP consulting leader. First announced on November 21, 2013, the transaction officially closed on December 31.

I founded Optimal in 1995 with the specific mission to bring only the best talent to bear on the toughest SAP challenges in the world. As Optimal has matured, we are humbled by our progress and the trust that our customers bestow in us.

Optimal has achieved many milestones since the company’s inception — year-over-year revenue growth (often 3x – 4x the SAP consulting market growth rate), an equity investment from Tailwind Capital, a slew of industry awards, SAP certifications and partnership distinctions, numerous marquee customer wins, and the opening of Optimal Labs in 2013, to name just a few — all of which are a direct result of our ambition to relentlessly serve our clients.

In many real ways, our relationship with NTT DATA represents the next logical evolution of Optimal as the go-to team for your most pressing technology issues.

It would be hard to design two SAP‐focused organizations that fit as well together as Optimal and NTT DATA’s existing SAP practice. There is very little overlap in our client base, and our industry practices and geographic headcounts are highly complementary.

Optimal excels in our consultative approach to designing both core and next generation SAP-based solutions while NTT DATA brings world‐class expertise in application management using an offshore-onshore model, hosting, data center management and cloud services. Together we will generate $1.3 billion in SAP related services globally and have 7,500 SAP practitioners.

Joining forces with NTT DATA will give Optimal a much larger pool of SAP-experienced resources and more service offerings to complete our vision of a global, one-stop SAP shop. As we borrow best practices from both organizations, you can expect that we will emerge with a full lifecycle SAP services portfolio that will be unmatched in its scale, scope and ability to mitigate risk for clients.

Optimal’s reputation as a pure-play SAP services provider, portfolio of SAP preconfigured solutions and SAP Rapid Deployment solutions, deep SAP consulting expertise, and expansion within targeted industry segments — public sector, mining, consumer, retail, wholesale and distribution, and manufacturing, among others — is perfectly complemented by NTT DATA’s existing SAP services portfolio and enhanced by our combined ability to accelerate the near- and long-term value companies gain from their SAP investments.
